I recently fit a customer into a Graphite Design Tour AD DI shaft and researching the proper shaft for him reminded me of the incredible range of shafts the Tour AD line offers.
Each Tour AD model is available in a full range of shaft weights and profiles to fit just about any golfer.
My favorite feature of Tour AD shafts is no matter the spec/profile every shaft in the line maintains the great feel they’re known for without giving up stability and control.
I have a great chart that helps with fitting, listing every shaft from low to high launch and low to high spin with every variation between and I can fit a shaft to match whatever you’re trying to accomplish with a shaft upgrade.
The Tour AD shafts are expensive at $380 each (including an installed OEM sleeve) but I’ve had a lot of success hot rodding drivers with Tour AD’s that golfers have been ready to give up on. To paraphrase Bill Clinton’s campaign slogan “it’s the shaft, stupid”.
Tour Pros can play any shaft and it’s telling that so many go with the Tour AD, including many on the LPGA Tour (whose swingspeeds/shaft specs probably are a much closer match to yours vs. a PGA Tour player). The driving iron shaft is especially popular as it performs when accuracy is important on tight fairways.
They also have a full line of Tour AD iron shafts, hybrid shafts, and driving iron shafts as well as a great price (while they last) on their YS+ Reloaded shaft (based on their original YS6 with updated DI materials and specs and a much friendlier price, as well as other US model shafts (the Tour AD’s are all made in Japan).
Send me a note if you’d like to discuss upgrading your driver with a Graphite Design Tour AD shaft.
