LA Golf Shaft Sale Continues!
Over the next few weeks I’ll be writing about companies that make their golf products in the USA and aren’t affected by the current tariff jockeying.
LA Golf, Aretera shafts, Breakthrough Golf, Star Grips and more will be featured.
LA Golf is having a great sale that continues until the end of June with all of their shafts a mind blowing 30% off!
I’ll join the fun and do free adjustable sleeve/ Star grip install (a $40 value).
The Gold series (with Boron) is a great deal at $244.30 (regularly $349). Some of the super premium Japanese brands charge $500 for their boron shafts. You’ll love the feel, performance, and now the price on these fantastic shafts.

Here’s information on LA Golf. Send me a note for specs for each shaft and help choosing.
LA Golf bought Matrix Composites a few years ago and they use Matrix 16 sided HD tooling and technology in their shafts. It’s the same HD tech used in the Matrix Ozik and their other premium shafts.
The Gold series adds boron for superior feel and performance. Al Jackson from AJ Tech worked with Matrix for a while and helped them with his expertise in using boron in carbon fiber shafts. Boron enhances the shaft's durability without adding extra weight, one of the issues with carbon fiber. I see that longtime shaft designer Jeff Meyer is on their team as Chief Design officer. Al (AJ) always spoke highly of Jeff and his skill as a designer (AJ didn’t dish out too many compliments to other shaft designers). Jeff worked at Titleist for a long time and also has his own performance composites company.
Here’s their information on the HD/Boron Gold shafts:
The Boron layer in this shaft offers unparalleled smoothness and stability under compression, enhancing the strength of traditional carbon fiber for superior feel and consistency on the course, setting a new gold standard in golf technology.
The combination of HD technology and Boron generates an exceptional experience through the swing. This is the smoothest feel of any shaft from LA GOLF.
This shaft delivers high launch and mid spin, ideal for golfers seeking enhanced accuracy and distance.
The LA Golf Gold series comes in 45/55/65/75 weights.

Breakthrough Golf Technology Shaft Sale
Barney Adams from Adams Golf fame started this great company some time ago. They make premium graphite/steel putter shafts, wedge shafts, and a great line of wood shafts called Brava.
They’re having a sale on their shafts at $100 off for the month of June. Their best driver and fairway wood shaft for better golfers is the Brava Tour. The Brava Tour driver shaft is regularly $439 and is on sale for $339 (I’ll do the free OEM sleeve/Star grip install).
It has beautiful graphics and they do a distance comparison with the Fujikura Ventus Blue TR (+7 yards), and the Graphite Design DI (+3 yards). These are in R, S, X flex and are for stronger swingspeeds. Specs are 62g/3.2 torque in R flex, 65g/3.2 torque in Stiff, and 68g/3.1 torque in X flex.
The Brava Fairway Wood specific model is. 60g/3.0 torque in R flex, 63G/3.0 torque in S, and 66g/2.9 torque in the X model. Price is regularly $389 on sale for $289.
Send me a note to order.
Their Stability Tour Putter shafts are regularly $329 and are on sale for $229. It features a stiff steel tip and graphite butt section for control and feel.
Their first batch of Zero Torque Paradox putters are finally shipping. It’s swing balanced and is the only putter balanced to stay square to your swing path. The weight is high in the toe and low in the heel to keep it square. There is a blade and mallet model. Price is $499. Send me a note to order.
Bryson’s New Irons US Open
Bryson is putting a new set of irons in the bag for the US Open from LA Golf with a heavy tungsten weight in the toe section and bulge and roll on the face (like a driver),
He uses Tour X 124 gram LA Golf graphite shafts.
From Golf Magazine Online:
…results were positive from the first strike. He intentionally hit shots off the toe and heel to test the side curve, and the shot patterns were exactly what he wanted. There were even a few balls off the heel that started straight and drew, which also caught DeChambeau’s attenion. Typically, this strike would start left and spin right, losing flight integrity, ball speed and flight stability.
Bryson DeChambeau’s LA Golf Proto iron specs
Single Length to end of grip (5i-PW): 37.5 inches
Swing weight: C3.5 on all
Lofts (5i-PW): 17.5/21.5/25.5/30/34/39
Lie angles: 67 on all
Shafts: LA Golf Bryson Series 6TX 124G

In the world of $600 drivers it’s nice to find a great playing/great looking driver for only $150.
I received my first batch and really like the looks of these. The head is a very high MOI design with weight placed strategically for added control. It’s a nice clean design and I’m combining this head with a 50g/3.0 torque premium Japanese Toray material design. Compare these to the $400 Japanese shafts. I built this combination for a customer and it’s a great combination at a great price.
The elongated head profile with added back weight relocating the Center of Gravity low and far promoting a higher trajectory and reduced spin. The expanded face-to-back distance increases the Moment of Inertia for improved forgiveness and increased distance.
The shaft is a beautiful deep burgundy and is available in L, A, R, or S flex. Lofts are 9, 10.5, 12 degree. $150 plus shipping.
High MOI Fairway Wood (see below)
The matching fairway wood features a CG location that delivers a blend of high launch and low spin. More weight is shifted lower in the clubhead to maintain a high inertia with an enlarged face profile.
The smooth sole plate reduces friction at impact.
Its available in 3/15 degree, 4/16 degree, 5/18 degree, 7/21 degree, and in a hard to find 24 degree/9 wood.
I like a little heavier shaft in a fairway wood and I’ve matched this up with a 68 gram 3.0 torque shaft that will bring out the best in this clubhead. I can also do the 50 gram shaft as in the driver. Nice for slower swing speed golfers.
Price is $125 each, send me a note to order.
