LA Golf Descending Loft Putters
Great putter design from LA Golf.
The Malibu X features a forged carbon head. The all-carbon construction, a material 5x less dense than solid steel, allows for a much larger area of forgiveness for off-center hits.
LA GOLF’s patented Descending Loft Face technology features four descending degrees of loft to solve for consistency with launch angles and yields more predictable rolls.
The Descending Loft Face technology is interesting, I see Cobra is using LA’s tech in their new line of putters.
Their P-Series SoHo shaft comes standard, produces unmatched stability, and features anti-vibration material to create the signature feel LA GOLF is known for.
The P-Series SoHo shaft accentuates feel, removes undesirable vibration, and reduces putter head oscillation.
Putting analysis software has proven that torsional deflection occurs on longer putts. The P-Series reduces unwanted deflection, keeping your putt from deviating from its intended line.
The shaft is available as a component at $299, assembled Malibu X with this shaft is $449 plus shipping. You have a choice of 4 neck styles, plumber, slant face balanced slant, and center shafted.
They also make a standard blade design called the Bel-Air X that is out of stock/on backorder but I can put you on the list if interested in that style vs. the mallet.

Alpha Fairway Woods/Iron Replacement
I really like these LoPro fairway woods if you have a hard time hitting your irons, especially lower lofted irons like 4/5/6 iron.
I made a nice 9 wood (a 5 iron replacement) for a customer and it sets up great and is very easy to hit. It has a fairly shallow face depth so it gets up nice and high.
The Alpha LoPro fairway woods have been very popular with my customers that are looking for something easier to hit that an iron. I’m building these with a Hiskei Wave shaft for $225 or the Alpha Platinum shaft for $199 each. The Wave shaft is great in this as it has a long parallel tip section so I can tweak the flex for you. They come in 3/5/7/9/11/13 and even 15 wood lofts. The 15 wood has a loft of 36 degrees which would equal roughly an 8 iron loft. They are in 3 degree increments so 13 wood is 33 or 7 iron, 11 wood is 30 or 6 iron, 9 wood 5 iron, etc. Their low profile face makes the LoPro really easy to hit nice and high. Heads only are $59 each. If you have a hard time hitting irons, try 7 wood/#4 iron, 9 wood/#5 iron, 11 wood/#6 iron, 13 wood/#7 iron, 15 wood/#8 iron, then a wedge or two. (they also make a #3 wood and #5 wood for a full set of these). The most popular combination has been 7 wood/#4 iron, 9 wood/#5 iron, 11 wood/6 iron then use 7/8/9/PW from your regular set. Recoil ESX Dart Iron Shafts
New iron shaft from UST Mamiya looks interesting. The new for 2025 design increases tip stabilization for maximum shot consistency and improved accuracy.
They’re lightweight (48/52/62 grams), high launch. stable with low torque for a lightweight shaft (low 4.0 torque). LL, L, A, R, Super soft LL (more flexible than a standard ladies flex) would be great for slower swinging senior ladies. Haven’t seen that before.
Parallel tip model is $45 each, taper tip also available custom order for $50 each. Send me a note to order.
Short Shots
I saw online that the 2025 HotList drivers from Callaway are $600 each! I’m building the conforming/non conforming models of the Krank X drivers for $399 with a wave shaft, a relative bargain.
Fujikura has a new 48 gram 8.0 torque Air Speeder shaft at $225. Compare that to the Hiskei Superlight at 48 grams and 4.0 torque for $135.
Still doing a lot of Wave reshafts. Price is $160 plus $40 for the OEM sleeve. I’ve got Krank OEM sleeves if you bought a Krank driver and would like to try a nice upgrade with the Wave shaft. It will make a big difference vs. their stock Fujikura shaft.
Project X has a new shaft called Denali and I’m waiting to hear if President Trump is renaming it McKinley. According to True Temper, Project X Denali is the culmination of 18 months of blind testing and R&D between our Tour team and engineers to create the ultimate in feel and performance. Featuring a stable butt-section, for confidence in the hands, with a straight taper mid-section, for a smooth energy transfer, Denali provides a unique blend of stability and feel.
Project X is available in a low launch/spin 60/70/80g option (Black) and a mid launch/spin option 50/60/70/80g (Blue) and a high launching 40/50/60/70g Red version.
Nice price at $225. Send me a note to order.
The Alpha Platinum shaft is a great choice for a premium shaft at a reasonable price of just $65. It’s in 45/55/65/75 gram weights, nice looking black/platinum paint treatment. The lighter weights are higher launch, moving lower as they get heavier. Send me a note to order.
